SPRING/SUMMER LEAGUE RULES and FAQs

 

Welcome to the 2025 Hawthorne Spring Bags Season.  To ensure a smooth season, please read the ground rules belows.

 

·   Season start Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 6pm. On May 6, 2025, please meet at 6pm at the round table under the tent in the back where we play to pay fee. Fred will take your money and Tim will mark you as paid. Games start at 630pm.

 

·       The season will run for 11 weeks.  10 weeks of league play and the final week 7/15/25 will be the end of season tournament.  All games will start at 630pm.

 

·   Fee $30.00 per player/$60 per team. Fee will be collected at 6pm before bags fly. These fees go toward season end payouts and tournament. All payouts will be made AFTER the tournament ends.  No payouts while games are still being played. Payout amounts/tournament rules will be announced mid-season. No refunds. Please bring exact change. The bank of Fred is limited. If you have any questions, contact Fred.

 

·   This website (www.hawthornebags.com) and facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/groups/2670679106415148/) are the primary means of communication. Check here for latest information.  Game status will be posted NLT 5pm on gameday.

 

·  NO SMOKING under the tent.  Per the owner Lou, if that happens the team will 

be asked to leave.  

 

·   Please bring regulation cornhole bags to each game. 6"x 6" and between 14 and 16 oz. should be placed 27' from front of board to front of other board. DO NOT switch boards out with other boards! Whatever boards that get assigned each week is what you must use to play on.  You can adjust the boards to straighten them if needed. 

 

·  If there is a rain out, we will post on the website by 530pm.  If rained out, we We will play a 3rd set the following week to make up for the lost time.

 

·   Board set 1 starts on the far Left as you look out to the playing area and continue on 

down to 2, 3, 4 ,5 and so on. Fred will play on board one all season. All other teams will rotate boards.

 

·   Please notate your scores (Wins and Losses) at the end of all your sets before you leave after bags. Anyone who forgets to register their wins or losses at the end of each evening will receive a zero score for those games.  We will not chase you down for scores. 

 

·       ACL Cornhole rules will apply.

 

·       No walkers, only subs. No A level subs in B Division.

 

·       No interruption of gameplay.  All questions can be asked/answered before/after gameplay.

 

·       If you can not make a game then out of courtesy to the other players, please notify Fred or Tim.  Failure to show on a consistent basis may lead to dismissal from the league. 

 

·       Fred Becker runs the league and his decisions are final. Contact him with any questions at 630-615-0034.- If you have or are experiencing rude or threatening behavior from any person or team please let Tim or Fred know immediately.

Pretty simple so lets keep it fun! Best of luck to Everyone. Last note's, there will beother patrons at Hawthorne's outside so please keep manners in check.

 

Teena will be our server so you do not have to drop your card at the bar. She is much better than some of the girls we've had in the past and should be able to accommodate everyone.
